KATS lawyers answer all your questions on divorce and property distribution at Rotary Club
A panel of KATS lawyers were on hand at the Rotary club of Kampala Metropolitan weekly fellowship, discussing all things marriage, divorce and property distribution.
Jane Akiteng, a Partner at the firm, led the charge. In her fifteen years of Family Law practice, she has seen and done it all. She was joined on the panel by Emmanuel Muwonge (Principal Associate), Hasfa Namulindwa (Senior Associate), Baati Katende Ntambi (Senior Associate) and Louis Lwanga (Associate).
The audience enjoyed a light-hearted interactive evening, with the attorneys sharing anecdotes and advice for those seeking divorce and/or judicial separation.
Questions from the audience run the gamut from: “How do I make sure I don’t get divorced?” to “What if my spouse and I are adulterous? Who will be held more guilty?” One audience member wanted to know what to do if he or she is granted a divorce but falls back in love with their estranged spouse. Another wanted to know what to do if she desires a divorce, but her religion does not permit it.
Suffice it to say, stay married. If you seek a separation, or are served with divorce papers; consult our Family Law experts before taking action. Trust us, you’ll be glad you did.
