KATS Career Conference temporarily shuts down MAK Law School

KATS in partnership with the Makerere Law Society (MLS) held a successful Career Conference at the School of Law, Makerere University (MAK), one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Africa, on the 29th March 2019.

The theme of the Conference was ‘The Next Generation Lawyer: Opportunities and new areas of Law’. It was a full-house, standing room only crowd. The audience was not only students from the MAK School of Law, but also their lecturers and professors, as well as students from other faculties at MAK, and other universities such as Uganda Christian University, in Mukono.

The KATS team included eight lawyers; Sim Katende, Alice Namuli, Emmanuel Muwonge, Baati Katende, Bridget Nambooze, Louis Lwanga, Edwin Wabwire and Edwin Mugumya.

The conference was structured into two parts, to wit; key note addresses by Sim and Alice, followed by a Question and Answer session moderated by Louis.

Both the Law School administration and the MLS leadership hailed the firm for the good partnership with MAK through mentorship programs and sponsorships for moots and other school activities.

It was a lively, interactive session, the climax of which was cutting a cake to celebrate 50 years of KATS providing premium legal services.

Some of the feedback of the event shared via twitter reads:

“Any lawyer who passed through the hands of @Katslaw1 and interacted with @KatendeSim never remains the same. The pursuit for excellence becomes your professional mantra. Thank you @KatendeSim and @Katslaw1
