Annual Women in Law Awards Dinner

The Uganda Law Society (ULS) Female Lawyers hosted the Annual Women in Law (WIL) Awards Dinner on the 7th March, 2019 at the Mist Gardens, at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The theme was ‘Celebrating Women at the Frontlines of Justice.’

In attendance were female and male lawyers in various fields of law: the judiciary, the academia, private practice, inhouse counsel, state attorneys, human rights practitioners and well-wishers.

The Commissioner for the Uganda Revenue Authority made a presentation about female empowerment.

Hon. Lady Justice Lillian Tabatemwa Ekirikubinza, in her key note address spoke about her journey as a lawyer and a judge and the life lessons along the way.

Our own Bridget Nambooze, a member of the Female Lawyers Committee, addressed the guests on the achievements of the Female Lawyers Committee for the year 2018/2019.

Alice Namuli Blazevic, an Associate Partner at KATS, was nominated for an award for Best Female practitioner.

Our Sim Katende was given a Special Recognition award for mentoring Female Lawyers.

We need hardly say, it was a lively evening to celebrate the accomplishments of female lawyers in Uganda.
