Four KATS lawyers ranked by Chambers 2020

John Katende, Professor Edward Ssempebwa, Sim Katende and Alice Namuli Blazevic have been lauded by Chambers and Partners Global Guide to the World’s Leading Law Firms (the most renowned legal directory in the world). Chambers released its’ global legal rankings on the 13th February, 2020 stating:

Founding partner John Katende, who the Publication notes, is a highly respected individual in the Ugandan market with over 50 years’ experience. He continues to be consulted for advice on both corporate mandates and litigious proceedings.

The Publication comments that co-founder Edward Frederick Ssempebwa is an esteemed individual in Uganda. Peers hold him in high regard for his wealth of experience in tax law and commercial litigation.

Chambers observes that Sim Katende is widely acknowledged as a leading light in corporate and commercial mandates, spanning a broad range of sectors including energy, oil and gas, infrastructure and banking. One source valued his “brilliant mind,” commending him as “approachable, agile and a great lawyer.”

Alice Namuli Blazevic is labelled as “one to watch,” with sources recognising her strengths in TMT work, particularly in the IT sector. One peer noted that she is “increasingly relied on by her firm as part of the next generation” of lawyers.
