    Judith is a Principal Associate primarily working in KATS’ Litigation and Real Estate practice areas.

    She handles a wide variety of Real Estate matters including transactional work for investors, foreign and domestic, requiring services in acquisition, portfolio management, and disposal of immovable property in Uganda. Over the course of a successful career spanning almost 20 years, she has successfully undertaken a broad range of Land Transactional and development work for and on behalf of private individuals, commercial landlords and landowners, and large-scale agriculturalists. She has successfully assisted clients in acquiring hundreds of acres of land to facilitate commercial agriculture; handling all aspects from land acquisition, title creation and registration. Judith is your go-to person for Real Estate investment advice.

    A keen litigator, Judith acts for a myriad of clients in the Agriculture and Agro-processing, Banking & Finance, Energy, Oil & Gas and Technology, Media & Telecommunication sectors where her work focuses on the intersect between these industries’ core activities and the bringing and defending of claims relating to Real Estate/Property rights’ protection.

    Judith undertook on behalf of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Co-operatives a study to identify and harmonize divergent areas in national laws and the COMESA Common Investment Area Agreement (CIAA).

    She is a member of the Family and Estates practice at the Firm and has handled a number of children matters for instance Adoption, Custody, Guardianship, Maintenance and some of the most complicated Divorce cases in the country.

    She is a visiting Professional Advisor at the Law Development Centre where she teaches Bar course students Land Transactions, Family Law Practice and Corporate & Commercial practice. She also spends a considerable amount of time mentoring and training young lawyers.

    She is a member of the Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and this is reflected in her litigation experience that also encompasses Family Law & Estates, Trusts.

    • Advised and handled cases for a number of clients who claim interest in Bugoma and Rwamunda Forests.
    • Has handled transactions and cases for the Buganda Royal Kingdom, various landlords in Uganda including Zimula Mugwanya estate, Kabuusu estate, Kisingiri estate, Saulo Kitulazi estate and Sema Properties Limited.
    • Assisted Companies in acquiring land for investment purposes and perfection of Certificates of Title including McLeod Russel (U) Ltd and Uganda Tea Company.
    • Successfully represented local litigants in several land fraud matters.
    • Advised various large local and international Companies to acquire financing for local projects including S.A Field (U) Ltd.
