The KATS’ Company Secretarial Department provides company secretarial services running the gamut from; incorporation of a company (both local and foreign) to winding up of a company, arranging and minuting of all Board and Shareholder’s meetings, filing of all company records at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) on a timely basis, retaining and maintaining all statutory books and registers; and where required operating as our client’s registered offices in the country.

With our network of Private Investigators, we do undertake private investigations for and on behalf of our clientele in sensitive matters including but not limited to; fraud, employment related issues, insurance matters, investigative due diligence, tracing of absconding debtors, personal and domestic matters, background checks, locating missing persons and witnesses.
KATS is also regularly retained to conduct sensitive corporate internal investigations. While most internal audit representations are confidential, we can report that our lawyers have conducted investigations on behalf of the Government of Uganda, many a financial institution and regulatory agencies. When conducting an internal audit, our firm assembles specialists experienced in corporate compliance, law enforcement, and the discrete competencies tailored to client needs. We work closely with company representatives to resolve allegations of impropriety expeditiously and effectively, and we assist our clients in analyzing business decisions and in taking corrective actions in response to the audit.

We also act as Trustees for Estates, where we offer wealth management services, including investment and asset protection solutions and advise our esteemed clients about the significance of planning ahead for a secure future. In this respect, we advise individuals, families and charitable organisations in the planning and administration of Trusts and Estates. We advise on activities as diverse as creating trusts for minor children and grandchildren, purchasing life insurance, planning for the continued support of disabled minors or other dependents, preparing pre-nuptial agreements, structuring lifetime and testamentary charitable gifts.
We also routinely act as Executors and Administrators of estates, advising on how testator's Wills and Estates are to be handled, arrange for valuation and collection of assets and payment of debts. Our services also include contested probate proceedings and coordination for ancillary administration of assets in other jurisdictions.
