I joined Katende Ssempebwa and Company Advocates in February 2001, in the department of Litigation. KATS was the biggest law firm in the country and I soon learnt that they had a reputation to keep and emphasized diligence and excellence in service delivery. I enjoyed my 11 years in KATS and pray the firm continues to lead and shine into the future, thanks to direction and inspiration of its founding partners. I am blessed to have been part of the work ethics and culture of KATS. Thanks
When I joined KATS in 2010, I was a novice in the legal profession. The senior partners however were gracious enough to allow me to join the distinguished ranks of the KATS team as a Junior Assoicate. I must say it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my legal career. KATS taught me about the true essence of a corporate lawyer and went ahead to instill these time tested values in me. To say that I owe everything to KATS is an understatement. As I conclude, kindly allow me to also extend a vote of thanks to Mr. Sim Katende and Mr. Arthur K. Ssempebwa who took me under their wings and provided much needed guidance. To the Senior Partners, Mr. John W. Katende and Professor Edward Ssempebwa, Thank you for opening your doors to countless individuals down through the years, the true impact of your generosity will never be fully appreciated. #Ahappy50thanniversary #katsforever #proudkatsalumni2010-2013
I joined KATS in 1996 and it was my first formal employment. I immediately realised how foresighted and style oriented the firm was. KATS was more than the ordinary law firm but a family of legal experts in many fields , commercial , corporate, family and civil. The partners Mr Katende and Prof Sempebwa were the pedigree in the legal profession. Their names were household names as they had been lecturers at the University , presidents of the Law society and board members or corporate Company Secretary to many large corporations. KATS was the place to be if one wanted to get the best in legal practice. From a physical setting point of view, the firm had the best offices with a great library and advanced computing network. The firm was way ahead of its time in adopting and utilising technology to deliver value. The list of clients was impressive and the output of the legal team was unmatched in the industry. Staff remuneration as well as welfare was competitive. I was fortunate to cut my legal practice teeth from such an esteemed law firm . Indeed I credit all my progress in the legal filed as well as my current employment at the Bank of Uganda with the experience and exposure I got at KATS.. Legal practice doesn't start from a better place than KATS.. Being a KATS ALUMNI is the best badge a barrister can brag of. LONG LIVE KATS. MAY YOUR WORLDWIDE ACCLAIM TAKE YOU YONDER TO THE NEXT MANY SUCCESSFUL YEARS!!!
